Dr. Nicholas N. Eberstadt

Dr. Nicholas Eberstadt holds the Henry Wendt Chair in Political Economy at the American Enterprise Institute and is Senior Advisor to the National Bureau of Asian Research.

He frequently serves as a consultant for the U.S. Census Bureau and other government organizations on such topics as demography, international development, and East Asian security, and is often called to testify before Congress on these issues.

He has published over 200 studies and articles in scholarly and popular journals, and is the author or editor of over a dozen books including Europe's Coming Demographic Challenge (2007), Prosperous Paupers and Other Population Problems (2000), The Tyranny of Numbers (1995), Foreign Aid and American Purpose (1988) and Poverty in China (1979).

Dr. Eberstadt earned his A.B., M.P.A., and Ph.D. at Harvard University and his M.Sc. from the London School of Economics.
